Improving the Lives of People in Need... It's Our Goal!

In keeping with our basic purpose, which is to help you—our policyholders—when you're most in need, Mutual Trust supports a Charitable Giving Program which strives to provide opportunities to improve the lives of people in our communities when they’re in need. Here are just some of the ways we’re working to make a difference.

Making a Difference

Through financial contributions and employee volunteerism, Mutual Trust supports initiatives focused on contributing in three main areas: Health and Wellness, Hunger and Housing, and Natural Disasters. For every dollar employees donate to an approved charitable organization or activity, Mutual Trust makes a matching gift of 50 cents.

Earlier this year, Mutual Trust held its annual bake sale to raise money for a local food pantry. As in prior years, the company-wide effort was a "sweet success," raising hundreds of dollars. Mutual Trust matched 50 percent on all sales for a total company donation to the Northern Illinois Food Bank. Nearly 600,000 people rely on the food bank and its network of food and feeding programs every year.

This month, Mutual Trust will sponsor its Annual Spring Cleanup and participate in a 5K fun run. Currently we're collecting gently used clothing, housewares, baby items, tools, sporting goods and toys to donate to The Cancer Federation. Donations to the Federation will help fund programs for cancer research, education and patient care. We also plan to participate in a local 5K fun run/walk to help fight against hunger, with donations going to the Northern Illinois Food Bank.
