At Mutual Trust, we know your financial goals can change over time, so establishing a plan and sticking with it can be challenging. That’s why we created our Flexible Premium Paid-Up Additional (PUA) Insurance Rider. Add it to Covenant II or Economax at policy issue—or any time—and you’ll be able to increase the amount of cash value or death benefit in your policy by making ongoing, flexible premium payments.

Flexibility for Life

Our Flex-Pay PUA Rider, designed for use on Covenant II and Economax, lets policyowners select a planned premium (for billing) and a maximum annual rider premium ($100,000 or less). After issue, policyowners can pay any rider premium amount at any time, as long as their annual premiums don’t exceed the maximum annual premium for which they are underwritten and they meet the minimum annual premium of $100. Rider premiums are payable until age 75, or earlier, as specified in the application.

Benefits of Adding a Flex Pay PUA

The rider is...

  • An easy, flexible way to increase the amount of in-force death benefit or guaranteed cash value in a Covenant II or Economax policy. (Policyowners can access this cash value through loans throughout their lifetime.)
  • Participating, so dividends from the rider are added to dividends from the policy and are applied according to the policy dividend option selected.
  • Underwritten only once—at the time of application.
  • A Disability Benefit Rider (DBR) is available if the policyowner selected a waiver of premium on the policy. When the DBR is issued, the policyowner selects a benefit period and a benefit amount. Then, if the insured becomes totally disabled, upon approval of disability and a four-month elimination period, the benefit amount selected will be paid as premium payments into the Flex Pay PUA Rider.
